Supporting Youth in Dover District, SYDD is a constituted community group and was originally founded by Eileen Rowbotham in 2014.

Our mission is to help young people between the ages of 9-19,but not exclusively through leisure time activities develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities so they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

To start with, SYDD was focused on Deal but in 2022 SYDD's mission was extended to cover all of Dover District.

We specialise in raising funds for community initiatives where the providers might not be on a position to apply for formal funding themselves.

Recent projects that we have supported have included a laptop library for children who otherwise would not have had online access for their school work, the very successful Skate Jams held at Deal skatepark in 2021 and 2022 as well as £1 Saturday morning subsidised skateboard lessons which are booking out every weekend.
